Welcome to ME!!

Honey, you're either going to "get" me and know my heart and my intent or you're not going to "get" me at all.  If you don't, know your limitations and just back away from the keyboard after clicking the little "X" in the box on the upper right corner of your browser window, ne'er to return again.  May you have happiness all of your days.  If you enjoy what I do, then pull up a chaise by the pool and stay a while.  If that's the case, you're the very person I'm writing this column for anyway.  I don't write to please the masses or kiss anyone's ass.  Everything you read here will be from my heart, off my cuff and dead on honest.  If you want a good read designed to offend no one, go to ABC.com because they are great at what they do.  If you want to hear what I really think about soaps, life, etc, then WELCOME!  This is an opinion column filled with gossip and rumors and, well, my opinion.  It may not agree with yours and I'm good with that.  *Please also note that this is NOT a spoiler or "exclusive info" site...it's a GOSSIP page and what we are discussing might be a RUMOR or a SPOILER, but isn't guaranteed to be what hits the screen.  I'm NOT in the business of or interested in breaking the exclusives.*   I suggest that if you want to read on, you make peace with that as well and leave your weapons with my Marshall, Lenore, before you enter town.  You'll get them back when you leave.  Believe me, you'll need them for some sites on the net and I don't want my loveys to go unarmed into war!  Remember to click that smiley globe in the links above to help EOS and search from the search engine above to help even more!  HOW TO DO "SAGE'S SEARCH."

Note:  Due to the large volume of e-mail he receives, Sage regrets that he is unable to personally answer each e-mail.  He wants you to know that he reads each and every one (some 2-3 times) and greatly appreciates your communication.  Please DO NOT ask Sage for further info on what is going to happen on the shows.  Any information he has that he can share will be put into his column ASAP!

Guys, like, I totally don't mean to be a jerk or anything, but seriously, look at the yellow above!!!  If I have ANY info, I'll put it in the column.  PLEASE don't write and ask me for further storyline information.  ANY requests for information that I receive after this will (sadly) be ignored 'cause it means you just didn't listen!!

Good God, I'm So Tired!!

Of COURSE, I don't want to keep you guys waiting, though, so here comes the story!  Don't worry!  There's soapy stuff coming!  Click here to bypass the personal stuff and get right to the soaps.

So as most of you know, my sister, Ginger, got married on Saturday.  I was dubbed the wedding plan, chief cook and bottle washer and I got to give the silly broad away.  *sniff*  It was beautiful.

We only had a month to plan and for most of that month, I was reluctant to invest in the idea because, let's face it, they had only known one another for a few months.  I met Natalie at Mom's birthday in October and then at Thanksgiving, they announced that they wanted to get married...at Solstice!  (yikes!)  Natalie is being reassigned with her work and where she is moving, there are "significant other benefits" that are not limited to opposite sex marriages, so she very much wanted Ginger to be able to move with her.  Ginger quit her job at the resort and is planning to spend her time exploring her talent (which really is quite considerable) as a painter (of pictures, not walls or houses).  She is more relaxed and beautiful and at peace than I have ever seen her as long as I've been alive.  How could I not support her decision??  Natalie has done more for Ginger in the few months they've been together than any other human has been able to do for her in her whole life.

As soon as I figured out (a couple of weeks ago, I guess) that it was really a go, I flew into full scale Franck Eggelhoffer (can you believe Martin Short is 52??) mode and began the wedding planning.  They wanted to have a small ceremony at our house.  We planned a glorious wedding out in the flower garden (which still has some lovely blooms, thank God for California).  Thank God also for rental joints that have all kinds of wedding gear for hire.  Thank God for sisters who have enough money to get married on, hand me an American Express and tell me to go mad (I should have thrown a new computer onto it.  They were too blissful to notice).  The weekend before the wedding, we learned that Mother Nature wasn't feeling particularly cooperative to an outdoor wedding and that two major storm fronts were coming our way, staggered out to keep us soggy for about a week and a half.  Time to regroup. Suddenly, the living room was where it was all going on since that is the biggest room in the house and we couldn't rent a hall on one week's notice.  *sigh*  OK, so I made enough room in the garage to move our furniture out there for the day.  Kye is a tremendously talented seamstress (although, sadly, the poor girl *hates* sewing...she's just good at it).  Bless her, she went for it with gusto.  We got into the Google image search engine and looked up some dress designs and they found a simple one that she could make in a short amount of time.  Kye took this basic design:

And made one in Hunter green and one in garnet red.  We even were able to get white opera gloves and dye them to match with the satin shoes!!  They were so lovely.  They carried bouquets of red and white roses with baby's breath and some nice greenery around them.  Since Kye is a floral designer, she took care of that as well (I couldn't have done this without her).  Mom and Marji (who flew in early) cooked like mad and whipped up some delicious rosemary chicken, rice pilaf, green beans with blanched almonds, some kind of little rolly hors devours, and French rolls.  Maxine was kind enough to order the cake for us as part of the gift from her and Kurt and it was the prettiest I've ever seen.  I'm so glad they could handle all of that because there's no way I could have cooked as well as get the rest of the wedding underway.  Lynn came out from Texas and brought a case of the wine that they bottle themselves (it was WONDERFUL).  We rented 50 folding chairs and decorated the room with clear twinkle lights and two beautiful twin candelabras next to where the ceremony would be held.  A friend of my mom's who is a licensed minister performed the wedding.  We had about 35 people show up.  All of the girls made it except Rosemary.  Very few of the spouses and grandchildren were able to come.  Natalie's two sisters and her mother and father came, as did some of her friends from college.

They said their own vows to one another and I was bawling my eyes out like a big old blubber baby before they got a few lines into them.  I remember there was something about finding love in unlikely places.  Ginger said that Winter Solstice heralds the return of the sun to the sky and that meeting Natalie brought the sun into her life and brightened her every moment.  She said something about coming out of the long, dark night of the soul and moving into the brightest morning, with her love forever by her side.  It was so beautiful.  I've asked her to send me copies of their vows (I want to have them mounted on a plaque for them), but I think they are a little too busy on their honeymoon.  Leave it to the events planner for a resort to come up with a kickin' two weeks for a honeymoon!  Both of the girls were just radiant.  Since Ginger is fair with frosted hair (but hers is just above her shoulders) and Natalie has an olive complexion with long,  straight, black hair, they looked kind of like this:

minus the skirt pool at the bottom.  I wish I could post real pictures of the wedding, but not only is my mom really sensitive about photos being on the net, but Ginger is as well after the whole Bender ordeal.  I have to say, as the planner and the guy who got to give away Bride #1, that I could NOT have had a more cooperative couple.  I've seen the ordeal that some weddings become and one would think that with two brides, it would be madness and cat fights and insanity, but they were both just lovely.  They had a lot of really great suggestions and were always very helpful at any turn of the key.  They were so grateful and happy and it was extremely moving to truly feel that the wedding was an event to celebrate their love and their future together rather than about ego.  It was one of the most loving, warm, celebratory and exhausting experience I've ever had.  I think the most tiring thing was worrying about all of the things that *could* happen and constantly adjusting around new variables (like the weather).

Some of the guests stayed over at our house, some stayed with Kye and others stayed in hotels.  I bailed out on Sunday and went up to see Katrina.  There were some Christmas cards and a couple of gifts waiting for me to pick up (Yes, beautiful woman, I'm waiting for Christmas on that one!  Katrina sealed my fate by telling Gestapo Mom Bourland about the Christmas embargo ).  One of our mutual friends sent us some YUMMY homemade wine, so I had some wine for the second time in a weekend.  I'm usually a rum drinker, but this stuff was GOOD.  We sat by the fire and caught up, talked about site plans and the wedding, then watched the Sam Neill (yum!) version of Merlin.  It was such a warm and fabulous time.  I drove back much more relaxed, but sooo tired from being tensed up for a couple of weeks.  I fell into bed last night and didn't get up until almost noon.  I can't remember the last time I slept past 6am.  The last of the guests left out today and the girls called from Cancun (just one of their stops) to thank us and tell us again how happy they were with the wedding and their lives.  I started crying again like an idiot and was just so very happy for her.  I just now got time to sit down and write for the first time in days.  Goodness, I missed you people!

So that's the wedding story.  Thanks to all of you who inquired.  Now, on to the soaps!

AMC

Can you believe it?  AMC is up for the GLAAD award for Outstanding Daily Drama again for daring to have a lesbian on the show, regardless of how celibate she might be.  As if THAT's deserved!  Of course, there's not really much to pick from on nominations.  The extent of Bianca being gay is "I'm gay" and nothing else EVER happening.  AMC is up against Telemundo (?) and Undressed on MTV.  No doubt, they'll win again.

William deVry is contracted to play Michael Combias, a love interest for Kendall.

On December 27, Elizabeth Hendrickson (Maggie) will join Ty and Lisa on "Soap Talk."  Check yer listings.

LaLucci will be holding court on Hollywood Squares Dec 30 - Jan 3.

Look for Dr Janelle Anderson (Ellen Bethea) to be around for a bit.  She's on recurring status (hurray!).  Maybe SOME show will finally recognize how great she is and give her a damned contract.  She sure held her own with David "God" Hayward and heaven knows OLTL has done her wrong giving her a guest appearance every few years!  Bring her back!  Give Keri a friend!  Give Nora something to do besides sniffing after Lindsay and cooing over Troy, which brings us headlong into...

OLTL

What??  WHAT??  It's going to happen?  From what I'm hearing, the powers that be LOVE Phil Carey's scenes with Ilene Kirsten and we can expect a major story with Roxy at the core!  FINALLY!  The Mitch story is still full steam ahead, so Sage is HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY that his two most favorite characters/actors are going to be prominently featured.  The only fly in the ointment is the bringing of Jen "God Help Me I Can't Act" Rappaport into the Mitch story. (snooze)  Maybe Mitch can put some sugar and 1% milk on her and eat her like Post Toasties for breakfast, then just be done with it.  I'd pay him to kill her off.

Teddy Sears has been let go from his role of Chad Bennett (betcha didn't even know Chad had a last name, didja?) and the big question is whether or not anyone will notice (maybe Blair?).

To your left, you see Bruce Michael Hall, who is rumored to have scored the role of Joey Buchanan #6.  Hall used to be Reese on Passions and will try to do what the very great actor, Don Jeffcoat could never manage:  Make us, Gina Tognoni and Robin Strasser forget that Nathan Fillian is the only real Joey Buchanan.  *sigh*

Want a good time, sailor?  Go here and check out the ten year old comparisons of OLTL actors.

How about all that hair in those pictures, eh?

New Jessica looks quite a bit like Old Jessica and what remains to be seen is whether she can act or if we will have to wait months for her to "make the role her own," which is fanboy talk for when the fans resign themselves to their favorite character being gone forever and some replacement finally being OK enough that we don't vomit when they're onscreen.  She'll have a tough act to follow!

Allow me to just say the following:

Only two days, 13 hours and 50 minutes until Sylvia Miles is on OLTL.

Allison alert!  Look for my favorite redhead to hit the screen on January 13!!

The OLTL Headwriter, Josh Griffith, vows not only to make Viki find happiness at last (are we going to do that sans Ben??), but to also revive the character of Max from the two dimensional hell in which he's been trapped since his favorite clown-nun, Maggie, left town years ago.  There's also talk of that big rumored storm of the February sweeps blowing my #1 gal, Dorian back into town.  Nothing would make this little rumorqueen happier, darlings!!  I just haven't been the same without my favorite Queen Diva!!  She took the swish out of my swisher when she left!

As one arrives, another may leave!  There are rumors that Roger Howarth may want to head back to the West Coast after his contract expires in January.  Since OLTL is now filming 4 weeks out, that would mean he'd be on our screens until February, so we may get a dramatic Todd exit once again.

Regardless, the new regime at ABC and OLTL seems determined to prove that it wasn't a one hit wonder that scarfed up the Emmy last year!  I'm not figuring on it winning this year, but next year would not surprise me at all!

GH

By all accounts, both the Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve episodes are going to be awesome, not to be missed runs!  The Christmas episode is supposed to be a "Skye's Wonderful Life" idea, unless that's just internet rumor.  None of my sources have confirmed or denied.  New Year's Eve is when the old woman from Titanic, Gloria Stuart, plays Catherine, a mobster's widow, who tells a story of blood and gangsters and a speakeasy that closed the same night it opened in 1923.  Hey, if there can be a freaky freaking lab under General Hospital without anyone knowing about it, I guess there can be a speakeasy under Kelly's without anyone knowing, right?  Look for your favorite GH character to take on roles from the past and act out the tragic night while Carly wonders if it's an omen of what's to come.

There's more coming about Ric!

Tomorrow is the day!  Set your watches and hold onto your hats, Darlings!  The NEW LUCAS COMETH!!

Ric and Elizabeth spend Christmas together.

Alexis gets to hold Kristina.

Lucky gets to meet the elusive Summer, but will anyone believe him?

Jason and Brenda find that they are safer married than divorced when the possibility of testifying against one another comes into play.

Ned takes out some pent up aggression in the foxiest way possible!  There are some new eyebrows in town and he manages to raise them a little higher.

Brenda breezes back to town from her romantic trip with Jax to come to Sonny's defense.

Ida isn't quite what she seems and not exactly a true blue witness!  Turns out AJ is behind her confession!  She has a bit of info for Skye and Coleman on the side and off the record.

Jax is more than willing to let Sonny take the fall (so to speak) for Alcazar's murder.  Meanwhile, Sonny plans to check on some possible mob connections that may have been the actual culprits.

More Jax and Brenda scrogging to be done.

Ned has his own reasons for wanting to raise Sonny's biological child.

Alexis learns that Cameron is missing 4 years of his life and he is NOT happy about her nosing around.

Skye receives her divorce papers.

AJ tries to blackmail Courtney into taking him back.  (She says, "Um, no!")

Jason and Brenda share some kindness and understanding between one another and their partners are not very thrilled about it.

Luke takes Summer on a review trip of his life with Laura.  She, again, reacts key points of his life with Laura for him.

Jax is ready to cast the light of guilt on ANYone to save Brenda, whatever the cost.

After answering more questions, this time from Gia, Ida is found dead by Ric.

Sonny begins to see Ric differently.

Be ready for Zanuary!  A back story, a friendship with Gia and Nic and the return of Emily.  Is Zander connected to Ric or to Cameron?  One is a red herring and one is the real deal.  Since Zander has a flashback to Cameron and "Peter," (remember he mentioned "Pete" when talking to Liz months ago?), I'm betting we can figure it out!

There are still rumors around of Dillion, Ned's baby brother, coming to Port Charles.  Could Tracy be far behind, even for a quick guest shot?

A lot of you have been asking for another spoiler site to go to now that Gedstern's has closed down.  Um, are you aware that our website, Eye on Soaps, has spoilers, as well as spoilers with commentary?  Just go to the Recent Updates page to get there!

Last thing:  As you all probably know by now, Gedstern's, the best GH spoiler site on the net has closed up shop, not the least of which is because of the expense that a high traffic sight generates in bandwidth.  If you haven't done so yet or lately and like what we do, PLEASE consider donating to Eye on Soaps (on a regular basis if possible!) so that we do not meet the same fate!  The cost of a trip to the beauty salon (honey, I know!) or a dinner out or even the month's worth of soap mags (and we have MUCH better commentary!) can help us immensely!  Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far over the past several months!  We are eager to stay in business and continue bringing you the best gossip and soap commentary on the net!  We just can't do that without your help, so if you can, please show us that you enjoy the site and want to keep us around!  Click here to learn how to help!  We are excited to see that our traffic has quadrupled this year over last and we're so glad that you are all here!  That bandwidth costs big bucks, though, and every penny counts toward the continuation of the site!  Thanks so much for reading the pitch.  We really appreciate you being here! (Did you ever see so many exclamation points in your life?!)

And with that, Sage bows out for the night and is off to beddy-bye.  Have a faboo week and may Santa ring your every happy bell this year!

Feelin' the Love, Precious (but mostly, feelin the tired)!!
