Welcome to ME!!
(Yes, Sage is a guy... and a damned good looking one too!)

Honey, you're either going to "get" me and know my heart and my intent or you're not going to "get" me at all.  If you don't, know your limitations and just back away from the keyboard after clicking the little "X" in the box on the upper right corner of your browser window, ne'er to return again.

I used to have a long disclaimer here for the confused and manners-challenged people who don't know the difference between a "rumor" or "gossip" and an actual spoiler, but screw it.  Angry, bitter, small minded people will always talk their trash to compensate for their own 1st chakra frustrations and inadequacies.

When you read those vicious people on the message boards, just shake your head and remember they aren't getting any play, so they're grumpy.  Pity them, then dismiss them.

Note:  Due to the large volume of e-mail he receives, Sage regrets that he is unable to personally answer each e-mail.  He wants you to know that he reads each and every one (some 2-3 times) and greatly appreciates your communication.  Please DO NOT ask Sage for further info on what is going to happen on the shows.  Any information he has that he can share will be put into his column ASAP.

AMC

Good news for our most delicious cynic, Kate.  The fabulous and oh so wonderfully smarmy Mark Pinter will be returning to the role of Roger Smythe for an episode to air on October 22nd.  Granted, it's only in a Greenlee dream, but it will be great to see Pinter in any form.

Despite the inner turmoil that we see behind the business scenes of Fusion, the votes are in for The Sexiest Man in America.  You read it here first, folks!  The winner is... me!  I didn't want want to brag before, but I want to share it with you before it's announced on October 10th.  To view the portfolio that melted their hearts and swayed the votes, click here.  I may have to decline it to the 1st runner up because of the traveling involved.  I mean, how can I write for you guys if I'm off partying with the Fusion chicks?  A man has to make sacrifices.

Although a lot of people have been concerned that ABC is backing down from pursuing an actual gay relationship by breaking up Lena and Bianca, nothing could actually be further from the truth.  Although ABC definitely zigged where they should have zagged by using Bianca's rape and subsequent pregnancy to alienate Lena from Bianca's life, their intent was good, sort of.  Noting that fans were missing the interaction between Maggie and Bianca, they decided to remove Lena for a while and allow Bianca and Maggie to re-bond throughout the current crisis, then re-introduce the romance with Lena at a later date.  It appears that what is going to happen is that Maggie will be the one who is instrumental in reuniting the two with her friendship with Bianca firmly intact.  Kendall will also be a factor in the reunion and there has been talk of having Lena and Bianca carry the baby to term.  Likewise, there has been the inevitable talk of taking the easy way out (as far as storytelling) on the pregnancy by having Bianca lose the baby after deciding to keep it.  Regardless, I can guarantee you she isn't going to give birth abroad. (What really irks me about this is I wrote it yesterday and wondered if I should post AMC and OLTL alone, then tack on GH later and opted to post this column as a whole today.  Now, Maggie has already played Miss Match for Bianca and Lena, so this whole paragraph falls into the "Well, DUH!" category.  OH well.  As an amazing philosopher that I once read about said, "Sometimes you're the chicken and sometimes, you're the cockroach.")

In keeping with Katrina's latest Soap Journal column, I am going to do my lists of 10 positives things about each show, so here's mine about AMC:

1 - I am so excited about Ryan returning that I could knock off my own hat.

2 - Mark Pinter moment!!  Hoooo wahhh!!

3 - I LOVE how AMC actually uses their veteran cast from time to time.

4 - I appreciate that AMC has always been more open to interjecting the occasional gay storyline here and there.

5 - I swear to God I saw Derrick last week!

6 - I love that Simone and Tad got together and just knocked one out.

7 - I love the way Mary managed to insinuate herself right into Adam's home and life.  Very smooth!

8 - Reggie is wonderful and Michael Jordan just keeps getting better and better.

9 - The scene at the clinic between Bianca and Kendall had me reaching for the tissues.

10 - David has been just wonderful lately.

OLTL

There is a tight lid on what's going on with Al's character on OLTL, but that doesn't stop a lot of speculation.  I've been debating whether or not the powers that be are clever enough to effectively pull off the whole Heaven Can Wait idea of having Al come back in the body of another cast member, projected to be either Joey (only rumors of Bruce Hall's exit have surfaced, nothing solid at all) or Cris (David Fumero leaves the show the same week ABC is boasting "Al's back!").  All we know is that the chance for Marcie and Al to have a renewed relationship is supposedly at hand and that Al "has a mission."  If they dare to follow the actual story of Heaven Can Wait, we will see Nathaniel Marston in the role of whatever character he inhabits, but the other characters will "see" the person he's replacing.  Since we know David Fumero exits around that time, it could be interesting to see NM playing Cris with full Al memories, working his way around Cris' murder (but he's back, whoa!), navigating out of the relationship with Natalie and back into one with Marcie.  It's going to need a talented and delicate hand, that's for sure.  That's why I'm wondering if they are going to go full boat (which will be brilliant if handled well) or take some safe way out ala Gillian and Jesse on AMC.  It remains to be seen, because no one at ABC or OLTL seems to be talking!

Don't expect to see Antonio in Statesville walls (although he will, I'm told, be seen in that snappy prison jumpsuit).  Under some strong haranguing by Nora and Evangeline, RJ will confess that Keri left a suicide note and save the day.  Such a pity.  I liked it much better when the story was that she was mistaken for a hooker and killed to be kept quiet.

The 10:

1 - Vickers, Vickers, Vickers

2 - Dorian, Dorian, Dorian

3 - I'm hooked by the mystery of how they will bring back Al.

4 - I'm also floored by the performances of Hutchinson, DePaiva, Marston and Brier around Al's death.  It was an amazing body of work.

5 - The rivalry between Dorian and Viki is ready to bank on the starboard bow... over a guy.  It doesn't get much better than that.

6 - Starr is always so much fun to watch!

7 - Love Blair's engagement ring!  You won't see that baby on Shop the Soaps!

8 - Can I please get some more Nigel and Roxy?

9 - I'm grateful that the powers that be chose to end the awkward relationship between River and Adrianna.  It's not any faulting of either actor; it just fell flat for some reason.  Keep River, though!  I love his interaction with the Cramer women all around!

10 - I am enthralled with Trevor St John's performance as Walker/Todd.

GH

The info may not be flowing like a mighty river, but there are some mighty rumors about, arrrr, I say.  Hmm.  That reminds me.  We're suffering quite a Deppicit around here:

Ah.  Much better.  Where were we?  THAT's right.  GH rumors.

First, did you notice that the opening montage was changed slightly?  Then was changed back in places?  Did you see the final adjustment occurred right about the time Tony Geary came back from vacation?  No coincidence.

In fact, I have it on authority that since his return in particular, Geary is taking a heavy hand in script writing and is, in fact, "rewriting every script."

Watch with interest the scenes in the next few days of Stefan's interaction with the people in his life.  What you're seeing is completely different than what the writers submitted for Stefan's final days and what actually hit tape was written by none other than the man himself, Stephen Nichols.  He, as you can tell, is giving his best performances ever with the direction the writers took him before he assumed control.  He makes no bones about his final days being a gift to the fans who have supported him for so long.  In fact, of interest is that the entire speech Stefan gave explaining his actions to the "court" was actually written in in its entirety by Nichols.  Other actors on the set at the time had tears in their eyes from the performance.    Always the consummate professional, it took a lot to actually cause Nichols to balk at the plans writers had for Stefan's demise, right down to having Stefan rape Lydia and hire an underage hooker (rumor is that job was left to Coleman, Port Charles resident "Get It" guy, the hooker, not the rapin').  Nichols refused to do both.

One perceptive EOS reader hit the nail on the head by suggesting that the Stefan we are seeing now is actually Stavros under a skillful surgeon's knife with the real Stefan stashed away by Helena, leaving an opportunity for Stefan to return at a later date as the real deal.  Will we get a hint of this at Stefan's funeral when Helena comes to pay her disrespects?  I asked around and had it confirmed, that yes, this is one of the possibilities being discussed and the wardrobe department was specifically told NOT to get rid of Stefan's clothing after Nichols left the role, so even though fur was bristling at Nichols' assuming control of the character's final days, all bridges are definitely not burned.

My thought is that if what we're seeing has been re-written by Geary and Nicholas, what kind of mess was it before they got to it?  Yikes.  Wait... Katrina... must... think.... positive... happy... golden... lining...

That being the case, I have no comment on Frons' dumbass, meandering, self-serving statements to tvguide.com.  Wretching and vomiting often leaves me speechless.

The past few times that Jane Elliot has revved up Tracy Q to come back to town have proven to be dynamic and the writing has really been outstanding.  I don't expect this time to be any different and can't wait to see her make her way around the canvas interacting with different characters.  I expect it will go a long way toward evening out the cast a bit.  She breathes a lot of life into whatever she does, so I hold out good hopes for it.

Brad Maule will actually be around a bit as Dr Tony later this month and then, of course there's SAGE starting November 10th.  ;)

A rumor I want to stomp down into the ground so far that it can't rear it's nasty, pointed little head again is the one about Scott Egan (Johnny) behaving inappropriately with fans.  I know people who know him personally and I can assure you, although he's a fun flirt, he is very much the gentleman and LOVES being around his fans.  There is no way in hell he would jeopardize that by taking advantage of one (or more).  That right there is the problem with personal gossip about actors, blind items and such things.  People being applying them to actors indiscriminately on message boards and in chat rooms and pretty soon, "I'm pretty sure that's who it is!!" turns into "fact" (also called "slander")  when it may not have every had a basis in truth, much less for the person who was victimized with the labeling.  One more time, Scott Egan does NOT grope, manhandle or otherwise behave inappropriately with fans.  Don't make me say it again.

Dammit.

Sadly, one true rumor is that Johnny is being written off the show (killed off screen) by having him betray Sonny.  Evidently, one particular writer has had it out for Egan since he and a few heavier hitters (ah ah ah MO AND NLG CHOOO!!) refused to do the "Johnny rapes Alexis" scenes and hoped he'd leave voluntarily with little or no screen time.  When that didn't work, they determined to write him off in the most humiliating way possible, so he became a traitor that Sonny and Jason discuss as having being killed for his treachery.  We do not  see his killing onscreen; only hear it referenced by Sonny and Jason.  Such a tragedy and a damned shame.  You'll also notice that around the time Alexis was supposed to get pregnant, she started becoming the writers' favorite whipping post.  Another coincidence?  I think not.

Speaking of tragedies and damned shames, it looks like we will get Zander and Elizabeth, part 2 and maybe with a baby coming.  THAT should be interesting!  As with most things I'm eager for, my fear is that Guza will screw it up by insisting that Zander rape her, slap her or try to suffocate her or something.  I beg of them to do this one right.  Give me one couple to root for, please!!  I don't care WHO it is!  I have to admit, I was one of the ones who found it kind of hot the first time around, despite my Liason interest, and I wouldn't mind seeing where they take this.  I have definitely decided Emily isn't good enough for him any more.

The Sage Topic for this week? Go to Katrina's board and write out a few things you really do like about GH.  No snarky shit, either.  Be genuine.

Here are my 10 Things:

1 - Coleman

2 - Luke

3 - Tyler Christopher

4 - Stephen Nichols for rewriting the crap he was given.  You go dude!

5 - Mmm.  Alcazar.

6 - A character named Sage

7 - Ned's dimple

8 - NotDead Lily

9 - Jason knowing instinctively that if there was a high heel mark in the cemetery, it was Lily's.  I'm sure no other females ever go to that cemetery  :)

10 - Dillon!

11- Tracy coming back

12 - Mac's ass

Hey, I did 12!  This really works, Katrina!!!

Love to you all, Darlings!!  Sage adores you!
