1500 Calories 

The fruits allowed may be fresh, canned or cooked.  If cooked, they must be prepared without any sweetening.  Canned fruits must be water packed.  No fruit syrups allowed.  Meats must be prepared will all visible fat removed.  Drink 8 glasses of water a day.   

Breakfast 

1 serving of 10% fruit

1 egg, poached, boiled or fried in no calorie spray

2 slices of whole wheat or rye bread/toast with 1 tsp of butter

Coffee or tea without cream or sugar

 

Lunch 

2 oz of lean beef, lamb, pork, veal, low fat luncheon meat, chicken, turkey or fish

2 servings of 3% vegetables, raw, cooked or in a salad

2 slices of whole wheat or rye bread with 1 tsp of butter

1 serving of 10% fruit or 1 small serving of 15% fruit

1 glass of skim milk 

 

Dinner 

1 cup of broth, bouillon or clear veggie soup

3 oz of lean beef, lamb, pork, veal, low fat luncheon meat, chicken, turkey or fish

1 small serving of 20% vegetables or 1 serving of 15% vegetables

1 small serving of 6% vegetables

1 serving of 3% and 6% vegetables as a salad with 2 teaspoons of salad dressing

1 slice of whole wheat or rye bread with 1 tsp of butter

1 small serving of 15% or 20% fruit

1 glass of skim milk

Coffee or tea without cream or sugar 

 

3% VEGETABLES        

Asparagus, beet greens, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, celery cabbage, cucumber, endive, eggplant, green pepper, lettuce, mushrooms, mustard greens, okra, radishes, sauerkraut, spinach, tomato, turnip greens 

6% VEGETALES          

Beets, brussels sprouts, carrots, collards, green beans, kale, kohlrabi, onion, pumpkin, red pepper, rutabaga, squash, turnip 

15% VEGETABLES        

Artichokes, green peas, parsnips 

20% VEGETABLES        

Corn, dried beans, dried peas, lima beans, white potatoes 

25% VEGETABLES        

Sweet potatoes, yams 

20% FRUITS          

Bananas, figs (fresh), grape juice, prunes (fresh)  

15% FRUITS 

Apples, blueberries, cherries, grapes, guava, huckleberries, kumquats, loganberries, mulberries, pears, pineapple, pineapple juice, raspberries 

10% FRUITS          

Apricots, blackberries, cranberries, currants, gooseberries, grapefruit, grapefruit juice, lemons, limes, oranges, orange juice, papaya, peaches, plums, tangerines 

5% FRUITS 

Cantaloupe, honeydew, rhubarb, strawberries, watermelon
