1983 to present

Born in Princeton NJ, May 7, Knight spent most of his childhood in  southern California. He attended a prep school, at which his father taught, before earning his degree in theater arts from Wesleyan University in Connecticut.  Following graduation, he moved to NYC and worked at the Circle in the Square Theater.  

Knight assumed the role of Tad Martin in 1983, garnering two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Younger Leading Man in a Drama Series (1986 and 1987).  he left the show for a brief period to work on film projects, including the lead in the feature film Date with an Angel.  he returned to AMC in 1988 and remained for two years.  He was off again in 1990 after Tad fell from a bridge, but made his way back to Pine Valley again in 1992.

In 1997, Knight received the Soap Opera Award for Best Supporting Actor and a nomination in the same category the following two years. 

Knight's theater credits include the lead in Run for Your Wife, Cakewalk, with Linda Lavin, Wrong Turn at Lungfish, and Home Games, with Paul Sorvino.  Film credits include the lead in Hexed, Baby, it's You,  and numerous guest shots on prime time including Murder, She Wrote, Dear John, Grapevine and the ABC television movie, She Stood Alone: The Tailhook Scandal.

Knight and his wife, actress Catherine Hickland (currently Lindsay on One Life to Live) reside in  New York City.
